Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey Mobile Quotes SMS Service
This tool will provide you with an estimate of financial assistance that you may be eligible to receive to purchase health insurance under The Affordable Care Act (ACA). The ACA provides for financial assistance to purchase health insurance in the form of advanced premium tax credits (also known as special tax credits or subsidies) beginning in 2014. If you are eligible for assistance under the ACA, you will be able to immediately apply the tax credits to lower your health insurance premium costs.
The advanced premium tax credits (special tax credit or subsidies) will be available for people under 65 years of age, who purchase health insurance coverage on their own through a Health Insurance Marketplace.
Under the ACA, your advanced premium tax credit (special tax credit or subsidy) is based on your age, your household income, number of people you claim on your taxes, and the percentage of your household income required to pay for health insurance premiums.
This calculator will provide you with an estimate only and is not a determination of an exact amount you may be entitled to under the ACA.
The estimated amount provided by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is based upon a projected 2014 average premium of $4,988 for a single adult enrolled in the second-lowest cost Silver Plan. The 2014 average premium of $4,988 is based upon the Congressional Budget Office projections of average premiums for an individual policy in 2016, adjusted for inflation based upon the Core Consumer Price Index.
Household income is a measure of the combined incomes of all people sharing a particular household or place of residence and who are claimed on the same tax return. It includes every form of income, e.g. salaries, wages, retirement income, child support, investment gains, etc.
Actual advanced premium tax credits (special tax credits or subsidies) are calculated based on adjusted gross income (AGI) reflected on your 2014 tax return.
Advanced premium tax credit (special tax credit or subsidy) calculations vary by geographic area.
The Federal Poverty Level (FPL) is estimated for 2014 based on Congressional Budget Office projections for inflation.
This calculator is intended to illustrate the estimated amount of financial assistance, through advanced premium tax credits (special tax credits or subsidies), an individual may be eligible to receive to purchase health insurance under the ACA. There are many other elements that could increase or decrease the actual amount you may be entitled to from the federal government. This estimate does not constitute a promise or offer of financial assistance from Horizon BCBSNJ to purchase health insurance.
Individuals and families with incomes at or below 133% of Federal Poverty Level (FPL) may be eligible for Medicaid based on their geographic area.
